YOU ARE IN: Home > Villages > Waubra

Don't say you've just blown in when you reach Waubra, because this is the site of the largest renewable power project in the Southern Hemisphere with 128 wind turbines. Each turbine can generate 1.5 megawatts (MW), providing a total installed capacity of 192MW. The green energy generated by the Wind Farm each year can deliver approximately 650,000 tonnes of CO2 savings. For more information on the Waubra Wind farm, click here.

During the day, you can visit the renovated chaf mill/stables at Quoin Hill Vineyard which were built approximately 100 years ago and have now been transformed into a winery and tasting rooms.

At night, the Waubra town folk enjoy a sunset over Mt Misery and then cheer up in the local pub!
