Rural Stops

The Pyrenees can lay claim to the most captivating variety of towns and villages of any region in Victoria. From the exclusive vineyard resort in Moonambel to the rural village of Beaufort; all have their own special character and holiday experience.

It’s hard to believe that pretty and peaceful little villages such as Beaufort, Avoca  and Moonambel are only 2 hours drive from Melbourne. In fact, Waubra is the gateway village to the Pyrenees and is only 1 1/2 hours drive from Melbourne.

One thing all our villages have in common is their excellent cafes and restaurants – so all you need to decide is whether you’d like a table overlooking the vineyard or people watching in the main street.

  • Many villages are known for their antiques and galleries such as Westbury Antiques in Avoca, Mount Lonarch Bone China Gallery near Beaufort or Kevin Frees Studio in Landsborough. Why not visit one of our local markets in Avoca, Moonambel or Beaufort and really experience what our villages have to offer.
